Description

És un edifici d'una sola nau que finalitza en una absis semicircular precedida per un arc presbiterial de perfil semicircular. La porta està encarada cap el sud i està compost per un arc de mig punt i dovella tosques. Com a única il·luminació hi ha una espitllera en el centre de l'absis.

En el mur sud s'observen les restes d'una antiga arcada que segurament donava a una capella, afegida amb posterioritat, i avui desapareguda. Per les característques constructives de l'edifici sembla que es podria datar a finals del segle XII, o principis del XIII.

Una llegenda diu que des de la Ribera, baixaven a la zona de Sant Quirc, les encantaires (unes bruixes). Potser això, l'ermita pogué constituir un element més en la lluita del cristianisme contra les arrelades creences seculars. És una creença popular.

Aquesta ermita no està inclosa dins la llista del patrimoni mundial de la UNESCO referent a les esglésies romàniques de la Vall de Boí.
