Description
English: The rooftop of the old Rotterdamsche Bank in Rotterdam, which was completed in 1949 by the architect Gerard Héman. The rooftop sculpture represents war, death and hunger versus peace, fertility and prosperity. Directly below it, on the roof frame, some of the 35 stone slabs with stylized fish and birds are present.
Nederlands: Het dak van de oude Rotterdamsche Bank in Rotterdam, dat in 1949 werd voltooid door de architect Gerard Héman. Het sculptuur op het dak vertegenwoordigt oorlog, dood en honger versus vrede, vruchtbaarheid en voorspoed. Direct eronder, op het dakframe, zijn enkele van de 35 stenen platen met gestileerde vissen en vogels aanwezig.
