Français : La rose et le rossignol - Iran, Shiraz (?) - Vers 1850 - Gouache et aquarelle sur papier - Lutf Ali Khan Shirazi - Louvre - MAO 783 - Extrait du dossier pédagogique de l'exposition L'Empire des roses : "Signée par Lutf’ Ali Khan Shirazi, la peinture sur papier représentant une rose et un rossignol illustre à cette époque le goût pour les fines peintures de fleurs et d’oiseaux. La délicate composition présente en son centre un oiseau, perché sur une frêle branche garnie de bourgeons et de fleurs timidement ouvertes ou épanouies. Celles-ci, vues à plusieurs stades de développement, autorisent l’artiste à jouer sur les effets de transparence et de lavis. La rondeur et la douceur du plumage gris du rossignol, réchauffé par le jaune de son ventre, contrastent avec les fines découpes des feuillages. La précision naturaliste de l’oeuvre permet ainsi de reconnaître les espèces représentées : le rossignol et l’églantier (rosa canina)."
