Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pictured: Royal Marines from HMS Albion, take part in a display with their Dutch counterparts. They are pictured here using Polaris MRZR-D4 Ultralight Combat and Tactical Support Vehicles. An agile, high-speed vehicle designed for smaller teams to get across the battlefield. The display forms part of the Marine Dagen (sic) day in Den Helder, North Holland, Netherlands. The display saw the Marines land on the beach with support from vehicles and Wildcat helicopters deployed from HMS Albion. This display mirrors the real-life techniques and role of the United Kingdom and Netherlands Amphibious Force (UKNLAF). HMS Albion takes part in Dutch Military show, highlighting our special relationship. The United Kingdom and Netherlands Amphibious Force (UKNLAF) celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023. The UK and NL forces have worked together within NATO and the Joint Expeditionary Force. This strong relationship is highlighted by the strong relationship between the Royal Marines and the Korps Mariniers, we have similar procedures, undergo joint training, have a common purpose, and are both in the midst of their boldest modernisation. HMS Albion and members of the Commando Force have joined their Dutch counterparts in Holland, as the country holds its annual Marine Days festival, and taken part in an amphibious display.
Date Between 29 June and 2 July 2023 (Defence Imagery gives a date of 28 June which is a day too early)
