Flickr May 8th as National Train Day =King's Day 2017. King's Day ( King's Birthday) is a National Holiday in the Netherlands. Many people go out to celebrate them with the Royal family. I chose to photograph their vehicle of the day. Because little use is made of this special Royal Train, this was a special moment for me. =Treinsamenstelling: TRAXX NSR 186 022 (voorste locomotief), gevolgd door: 1) Begeleidingsrijtuig (voormalig NSR ICRm A 1e klas rijtuig), 50 84 10-70 350-0; 2) Salonrijtuig SR 10, 61 84 89-70 003-8; 3) Begeleidingsrijtuig (voormalig NSR ICRm A 1e klas rijtuig), 50 84 10-70 349-2 en afgesloten met de TRAXX NSR 186 024 (achterste locomotief) =
De Koning kan voor zijn vervoer naast de hofauto's en de Koninklijke bus ook gebruik maken van de Koninklijke trein. Kenmerken huidige Koninklijke trein In 1991 kregen de Nederlandse Spoorwegen de opdracht van de regering om een nieuw salonrijtuig te bouwen. De nieuwe Koninklijke trein werd in 1993 opgeleverd. Tot die tijd bestond de Koninklijke trein uit een salonrijtuig en een volgtuig. De basis voor het nieuwe ontwerp was het intercity-rijtuig dat de NS op dat moment gebruikte. Het Koninklijk rijtuig heeft een salon met daarin een vergadertafel en zes stoelen, twee slaapkamers en een keukentje. De Nederlandse Spoorwegen zetten de Koninklijke trein in voor binnen- en buitenlandse reizen van de Koning en het vervoer van staatshoofden die ons land bezoeken. De trein kan ook worden ingezet voor het vervoer van leden van het Koninklijk Huis op Koningsdag. Bij officiële gelegenheden kunnen ook de leden van het kabinet gebruikmaken van het Koninklijke rijtuig. De Koninklijke trein is in beheer bij de Nederlandse Spoorwegen te Utrecht. |
