English: Rudravarna Vihar of artistic style in South Okubahal Tol from Sundhara of Lalitpur district. This monastery is considered to be one of the oldest medieval monasteries. According to the medieval records of 1361 AD, it is called Rudravarna Vihar. According to manuscripts, Shivadev dates back to the 12th century. At the top of this monastery, there are 15 rows of chaitya-shaped gajurs. According to the locals, this indicates that there are 15 monasteries in Patan. In this monastery, Chanhe is worshiped on the Chaturdashi day of Krishna Paksha of each month. It is said to have been built by Licchavi king Shivadev. The main gate of this monastery was built by Chandra Samsher. |
