Français : Ruines du château de Castelloubon. Ce nom rappelle l'origine de sa fondation par le premier vicomte du Lavedan, Mansion Loup, au début du Xème siècle. Résidence des vicomtes jusqu'au début du XIème siècle. Un tremblement de terre ravagea les bâtiments en 1660, entrainant l'abandon définitif du site et sa ruine.
Les ruines dominent en nid d'aigle la vallée orientée est-ouest du sommet d'un piton calcaire entouré de falaises abruptes et couvert de buis (le parcours peut être dangereux). On voit le village de Cheust au premier plan, Juncalas au milieu. Au fond on a la vallée d'Argelès-Gazost orientée nord-sud et les pentes du Pibeste. |
