Description
Deutsch: rationalistischer Wohnungsbau um 1930, »Siedlung Briesnitz« architektonisch und städtebaulich bedeutendes Zeugnis des genossenschaftlichen Wohnungsbaus der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts, auch sozialgeschichtlich und ortsgeschichtlich bedeutend Das Wohnhaus Gottfried-Keller-Platz 1–6 ist Teil der Eigenheimsiedlung Briesnitz (siehe Am Lehmberg 6/8). Das aus sechs Häusern bestehende, markante Rundhaus wurde 1930 unter dem Architekten Karl Willy Grunert errichtet. Der mit Lochfassaden im rationalistischen Stil ausgeführte, verputzte Flachdachbau besitzt vier Wohngeschosse (plus Nutzflächen in Sockel- und oberstem Geschoss) und eine Durchfahrt zum Felix-Dahn-Weg. Das Wohngebäude gehört heute zur Eisenbahner-Wohnungsbau-Genossenschaft. Als außergewöhnliches Beispiel eines insbesondere platzprägend wirkenden Wohnbaus der Eigenheimsiedlung Briesnitz ist das Rundhaus Gottfried-Keller-Platz 1–6 baugeschichtlich bedeutend und steht weiterhin wegen seines siedlungsgeschichtlichen Werts unter Denkmalschutz.
