Description
Русский: Сергей Михайлович Соловьёв (1820−1879) — историк, профессор и ректор Московского университета, академик Императорской академии наук, тайный советник.

Трудом всей жизни Соловьёва стала «История России с древнейших времён», с 1851 года выходившая ежегодно по одному тому (29-й том вышел посмертно).

Иван Егорович Забелин (1820−1908) — историк, археолог, член-корреспондент Императорской Академии наук, тайный советник, коллекционер.

Основные его труды — «Домашний быт русских царей», «Домашний быт русских цариц», «История русской жизни», «Минин и Пожарский. Прямые и кривые в Смутное время», «О металлическом производстве в России до конца XVII в.», «История города Москвы» и др.

На почтовых марках изображены портрет С.М. Соловьёва на фоне книги «История России с древнейших времён» и портрет И.Е. Забелина на фоне книги «Минин и Пожарский. Прямые и кривые в Смутное время».
