Description
Suomi: Säynätsalon vanhainkoti valmistui vuonna 1927. Sen suunnitteli naisarkkitehti Wivi Lönn. Vihkiäiset pidettiin samaan aikaan Hanna Parviaisen lahjoittaman kirkon kanssa. Siinä oli 7 kahden hengen huonetta ja 10 yhden hengen huonetta eli 24 hoitopaikkaa. Vanhainkodin yhteydessä toimi myös sairaala, jossa oli 10 paikkaa. Lisäksi oli vielä johtajattaren virkahuone ja asunto, ruokasali, keittiö, leipomo, palvelijan ja talonmiehen asunnot. Talvi- ja jatkosodan aikaan vanhainkodissa toimi 30. Sotasairaala (30.SotaS) ja myöhemmin myös kulkutautisairaala. Sairaalan toiminta loppui 1955 ja se muutettiin vanhainkodin sairasosastoksi. Viereen valmistui uusi kolmikerroksinen vanhainkoti ja siihen muutettiin keväällä 1962. Rakennus on yksityisomistuksessa ja siitä on tarkoitus remontoida asunto.
