Description
English: A U.S. Navy Grumman S-2G Tracker (BuNo 153580) of Anti-Submarine Squadron 31 (VS-31) "Topcats" in flight over Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island (USA), in August 1973. VS-31 had been assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 56 (CVSG-56) since 1971 which made its last deployment aboard the USS Intrepid (CVS-11) in 1973. CVSG-56 was disestablished on 30 June 1973 and VS-31 converted to the Lockheed S-3A Viking.
