Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Curtiss SB2C-4E Helldiver crumples in flames during a horrific crash landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La (CV-38). The aircraft was assigned to Bombing Squadron 85 (VB-85), which operated from the carrier during the period from April to September 1945. Note that the rear gunner has been thrown clear of the plane.
