Description A U.S. Navy Douglas SBD-2 Dauntless scout bomber in flight over the Pacific, circa mid-1941. This is the USS Enterprise (CV-6) Air Group Commander's aircraft, wearing the light grey color scheme used during the first part of 1941. "Commander Enterprise Group" is painted in white block capital letters on the fuselage side, immediately in front of the National star. Commander, Enterprise Air Group was Howard Leyland Young from April 1941 to April 1942.
