Description Five U.S. Navy Douglas TBD-1 Devastator torpedo bombers of Torpedo Squadron Six (VT-6) pictured lined up for launch behind an Douglas SBD-2/-3 Dauntless from Scouting Squadron Six (VS-6) on board the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) in early 1942. Armed with depth charges, the planes are obviously taking off for an anti-submarine patrol.
