Summary[edit]

Description U.S. Navy midshipmen and sailors board a 15 m (50 ft) motor launch from the battleship USS New York (BB-34) during the U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen's cruise during the summer of 1940. Note whaleboat on the midships' davits and the Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull aircraft of observation squadron VO-5 on deck and atop the catapult. The plane with the folded wings appears to be BuNo 1090.
