Description
Nederlands: Het echtpaar Jan en Suzanna Rademacher in 1946, t.g.v. het 25-jarig jubileum van de huisarts in Spijkenisse: Jan Tielman Rademacher (Pandang, Indonesië 2-12-1893 / Voorburg 24-6-1967) en Suzanna Maria Dirkzwager (Batavia, Indonesië 28-3-1897/1991). De heer Rademacher was de plaatselijke huisarts in Spijkenisse tussen 1921 en 1953. Hij ijverde voor tbc-bestrijding, richtte in 1930 het consultatiebureau voor zuigelingen op en gaf de aanstoot voor de bouw van het Groene-Kruisgebouw (hoek Groene Kruisstraat en Vredehofstraat, nu Hospice De Waterlelie). In februari 1945 constateerde hij het eerste geval van tyfus in Spijkenisse, wat enkele maanden later uitgroeide tot een ware tyfusepidemie. Op 5 mei 1970 werd het Gedempte Spui naar hem genoemd: Rademacherplein. Toen dat plein rond 1980 werd bebouwd, werd het Rademacherstraat.
