Dolmen de la Grotte aux Fées ou Dolmen de Mettray. Ce grand dolmen en grès est constitué par douze énormes pierres dont trois forment le toit. Ces dernières, seules, sont d’un poids évalué à plus de 88 Tonnes. Le monument qui forme une vaste salle précédée d’un petit vestibule a 11,50 mètres de long, et s’étend sur 4,50 mètres de large, pour une hauteur de 3,70 mètres. La dalle du milieu mesure 1,80 mètre d’épaisseur et doit peser entre 40 et 60 tonnes. Saint-Antoine-du-Rocher (Indre-et-Loire) Dolmen de la Grotte-aux-Fees or Dolmen Mettray. This large sandstone dolmen consists of twelve large stones. Three stones form the roof. The weight of these three stones is valued at more than 88 tons. The monument consists of a large hall preceded by a small vestibule. The dolmen is 11.50 meters long and extends over 4.50 meters wide, with a height of 3.70 meters. The stone slab in the middle measuring 1.80 meters thick and must weigh between 40 and 60 tonnes. |
