Cette salle du musée d'art oriental est l'une des plus attractives de cette institution publique dont les collections sont mal mises en valeur. La muséographie n'a pas été rénovée depuis des années et l'absence de climatisation rend les visites insupportables durant les mois d'été.

Alors que le musée d'art moderne de la Ca' Pesaro a été modernisé, le musée d'art oriental qui occupe le 3ème étage du palais (sous les toits) est resté le parent pauvre de l'établissement malgré l'intérêt des collections exposées. Les cartels sont peu précis, l'éclairage est archaïque, les vitrines également et le site web est réduit aux informations pratiques.

Plusieurs salles de ce musée ont été aménagées par Nino Barbantini en 1928 et n'ont pas été modernisées depuis leur ouverture. Ce musée a été le premier musée national d'art asiatique en Italie.
