Unique Hexagonal Leading Lines to the Mountains on the Horizon, Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, United States.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Bonneville Salt Flats is a densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah. The area is a remnant of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville and is the largest of many salt flats located west of the Great Salt Lake. The one thing that stands out about the never ending white dessert is the hexagonal salt shapes that look like they have been laid down by council workers. These hexagonal shapes are formed due to the freezing and thawing processes of water which creates a type of natural convection.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 75001826.
