Transcripción de la ficha:

"La espada es símbolo de la virilidad y de la milicia. Como veedor o supervisor de obras, Villalpando la coloca como emblema de la renuncia a las vanidades del mundo. Íñigo López de Recalde combatió en las huestes oñacinas del reino de Castilla. En mayo de 1521, con treinta años, cayó herido en la Batalla de Pamplona cuando defendía la ciudad de las tropas francesas de Enrique 11 de Navarra. Recuperado, luego de la lectura de La vida de Cristo del monje cartujo Ludolfo de Sajonia, decidió llevar una vida ascética. El militar ora en el Monasterio de Montserrat y ofrece sus armas a la Virgen. Así, la espada también es símbolo de castidad del fundador de la Compañía de Jesús quien, desde 1540, fue conocido como Ignacio de Loyola." (Símbolo y Reino, 2023)
