Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In 1974 the Abbey National Building Society decided to open a brand new branch in Ryde, Isle of Wight, (now part of Santander) and the writer was commissioned to provide a series of four sand pictures to be incorporated as a feature of the customer counter front. Each sand picture was mounted on a 12mm plywood base and measured 66cms by 46cms and featured views of Osborne House, The Needles Lighthouse, plus two views of Ryde and were based upon Victorian etchings by George Brannon. Each picture was protected from accidental damage in a tempered glass frame.
