Description
Español: Torre Campanario de la Iglesia de Santo Domingo. La torre ostentaba en la cúspide un ángel de bronce que media 3 metros y medio aproximadamente y se llamaba “El ángel de la Fama”, una leyenda afirmaba que entrada la tarde se izaba hasta la altura de su mano un farol que despedía una luz clara que servía de guía a los navegantes que se acercaban al Callao. Un incendio ocurrido en 1835 lo destruye y es reemplazado por uno de madera.
