English: A scene showing a sacrifice in the sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi. To the left are two members of the sacrificial procession: a fluet-player and a young sacrificant who shoves the goat towards the center where the sacrifice is being prepared. In the foreground there is the latar and behind to the right, in profile, the solemn figure of a priest with a flowing beard who immerses his lowered hands in a large sacrificial basin held for him right by a young servant who also raises the large sacrificial plate in his left hand. To the right of the altar a thin tree with leafless branches; in the background a votive tripod is set on a doric column. To the right of the scene, two thin doric columns surmounted by an architrave indicate the Temple of Apollo: the god, adorned with laurel leaves, is represented seated on a throne with his right arm bent to hold a long but thin branch of laurel (his symbol). The heads of the other figures are also adorned with laurel leaves.
