English: This striking building was built in 1873 by Jan Jacob Pietersz. In 1899 he sold it to Elias Salomon Levy Maduro.
After the building had fallen into disrepair, it was acquired by Stadsherstel Willemstad in 1994 and restored to its former glory. It currently houses the administrative department of the National Archives.
