Description
English: a. Non-interactive Salmonella. b. Host epithelial cell (HEC) interactive Salmonella producing numerous periplasmic organelles(PO) on bacterial surface (stage I). c. POs pinched off as outer membrane vesicles (MVs) 'fusing' with HEC microvillous membrane for translocating salmonella virulence signals into host cell (stage II). d. Invasive Salmonella organism(s) enters via ruffled (R) surface of HEC, after focal disruption of host microvilli (stage III).
