Das Gederner Schloss beherbergte das Regierungsviertel des Fürstenhauses Stolberg-Gedern. Das Schloss thront seit über 300 Jahren über dem Ort, der bereits 780 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Seit 1535 regieren die aus dem Harz kommenden Grafen. Im Jahre 1677 wurde Gedern Residenz. Die heutige Form erhielt das Gebäude 1736. Über dem Haupteingang am Treppenhaus sieht man das Allianzwappen des Hauses Stolberg und Naussau-Saarbrück.
