Description
Deutsch: Seetürmchen. Erbaut Mitte des 15. Jahunderts von der Familie Scharnachthal. Ursprüngliche Funktion ist nicht bekannt. Abgebrochen um 1759. Wiederaufgebaut nach den Entwürfen von Ferdinand Graf Harrach um 1896/97. Es diente dem Graf als Fumoir und Malatelier. Auf den Wänden sind die von Harrach gemalten Portraits seiner Frau Helene und des Pfarrers Johannes Haller aus Hilterfingen zu sehen.
English: Lake Turret was constructed mid of 15th century by the Scharnachthal family. Its original function remains unknown. The turret was demolished in 1759 and it was rebuilt from 1896 to 1897 by Count Ferdinand von Harrach according to his own design. He used it as a smoking parlour and art studio. The paintings on the walls portray count's wife Helene and the pastor Johannes Haller from Hilterfingen.
