English: Vertical cutaway diagram of Schichtenkohlenfloez III (lit. layer coal seam No. 3), Schichtenkohlenflöz III is the bottom part of the seventh seam (top down, out of eleven total) of the Zwickau hard coal deposit in Saxony, Germany. This diagram illustrates clearly how different built a coal seam can be within a few meters, with horizontal distance about some 18 meters. Drawn according to a illustration in Von den Brückenbergschächten zum VEB Steinkohlenwerk Karl Marx Zwickau 1859-1959. Erfurt 1960. page 216. Black=coal; white=intercalated bed.
