Summary[edit]

Description

Page 131 of brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This page consists of text plus a photo captioned, "View of the new home of People's Savings Bank, on Pike St. and Second Ave."

A sign visible at right, on the other side of the street, says "Real Estate & Loans, 119". That would be 119 Pike, so the street angling away slightly to the right is Pike, and the street cutting across is Second. So the building was on the northeast corner.

The page also says the building was a Masonic Temple. The space is now a multi-storey parking lot.

p. 131 of Seattle and the Orient (more properly, Seattle …and the… Orient), a 1900 "souvenir" pamphlet edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen and published by The Times Printing Company (that is, the Seattle Times).

Scanned at 300 dpi; images cleaned up using Picture Publisher's "remove pattern" feature.
Author Book edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen. Photo is not explicitly credited, but the initials or a monogram at lower right say either "HF", "AF", "HTF", or "ATF". The same hand can be seen in Image:Seattle - Scandinavian American Bank interior - 1900.jpg, where it looks more clearly like "AF".
