Artwork in Hindu temples

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Large Hindu and Jain temples often include a lot of art on the mandapa and temple walls. These include themes from artha, kama and dharma, as well as panels with legends from their historic texts. The outermost segments include scenes from the daily lives, festivals, and of culture providing a window into the people's way of life in the century in which the temple was built.

The above panel shows women dressing up. The upper most layer is a decoration called the hamsa-mala.

This ruin fragment is now preserved in Hyderabad, Telangana.
