Description
English: This picture shows the University of Texas at Austin research group (Simon S. Lam, Thomas Y. C. Woo, Raghuram Bindignavle, and Shaowen Su) who invented secure sockets and, in 1993, implemented Secure Network Programming (SNP), the first secure sockets layer, for securing Internet applications (including WWW, email, etc.) after receiving the 2004 ACM Software System Award from ACM President David Patterson at the ACM Awards banquet in San Francisco on June 11, 2005.
