עברית: סביון אביב בצידי הדרכים - רחוב הראשונים בקדומים 12 12 2014 לזיהוי: ה"צמח הצעיר נושא שערות לבנות ארוכות כמו קורים, הנושרות בהמשך הגדילה" צמח השדה
English: An unidentified Senecio species, possibly Senecio vernalis, in or near Kedumim.
The photographer took four pictures of Asteraceae species with yellow flowers on the same day and identified the plants shown in all of them as Senecio vernalis.
Two pictures show a Senecio species indeed, possibly Senecio vernalis:

The other two pictures show a Calendula species, as can be seen from the curved shape of its fruit:

הסביון קרוי בשמו על שם הזרעים שלו, שנותרים אחרי שהפרח נובל. הזרעים מסודרים בתפרחת לבנה המזכירה שערות של סבא השערות עפות ברוח וכך מפיצות את זרעי הסביון.

הסביון פורח יחד עם פריחתם של מספר פרחים כגון החמציץ והוא מבשר את בוא החורף.

ד' דרום, א' שמידע כתבו :"אולי הצמח הזהות החד-שנתי הבולט ביותר בפריחתו מכל צמחי הבר של ישראל...משטחי הפריחה הגדט=ולים שלו מרוכזים בעיקר בצידי דרך ובשדות נטושים"
