It is a two store structure with carving on outer walls and raw of pillars with various tales of epic Ramayana and Mahabharata. its traditional domed ceilings and vast open courtyard with huge size elephant is magnificent. The temple is located on the bank of Meshwo river. At Shamlaji temple Hindu god Vishnu's Sakshi Gopal or Gadadhar (Black representation of Lord Krishna in his childhood as cowherd worshipping holy cow is represented). Shamlaji temple is one among 154 important pilgrimage places of Vaishnav panthi in India. |
