English: Shinkansen Series 300 and 700 on the platform of Tokyo Station
中文：並列於月台旁的新幹線300系與700系車頭

新幹線是日本的高速鐵路系統，也是全世界最早開始營業的此類運輸系統。圖中所見到的為停靠在東京車站新幹線專用月台上的兩輛新幹線車頭，其中左側為較舊型的300系，右側為最新銳車種之一，以平均車速維持能力見長的700系0番代。

圖中兩款新幹線皆屬JR東海公司所屬，300系車種負責擔任特快車「木靈號」（こだま，日文裡的回音之意）使用，是東海道新幹線上的每站皆停列車。至於圖中的700系列車則是負責擔任「光號」（ひかり）特快車，是東海道新幹線主力的高速列車。
