Description
English: (from the left) Japanese figurines of Shōbō, En no Gyōja, Zao Gongen and in front two demons (Zenki, Goki) who served En no Gyōja. Originally these figurines were stored in a small portable trunk (oi, enkyu) carried by Yamabushi ascets during their exercises in the mountains. (private collection)
Deutsch: Japanische Figurengruppe mit (von link) Shōbō, En no Gyōja, Zao Gongen mit zwei Dämonen (Zenki, Goki), die En no Gyōja dienten. Ursprünglich in einem tragbaren Schränkchen (jap. oi) von Yamabushi während ihrer Exerzitien in den Bergen herumgetragen. (Privatsammlung)
