Summary
[edit]DescriptionShwezigon, Standing Buddha, Pagan 0212.jpg |
English: This is a "Mandalay Style" Buddha (19th century), so called from the period 1861-1885 when Mandalay was the capital of Burma. In Mandalay Style, the Buddha's clothing no longer follows the traditional iconography, but is based instead on court robes of the period. |
