Bahasa Indonesia: Silek Lanyah merupakan inovasi dan kreasi Silat Minangkabau, secara gerakan Silek Lanyah tidak berbeda dengan Silat Minangkabau. Jika sebelumnya tradisi Silat Minangkabau hanya dimainkan di lahan yang kering seperti padang rumput, ataupun matras maka Silek Lanyah dimainkan di atas medan yang berair, biasanya di sawah-sawah yang baru selesai panen. Mungkin beberapa Silat Minangkabau dulunya juga menggunakan medan berair sebagai lahan untuk berlatih tetapi tidak untuk di pertujukan secara khusus, disinilah taya tarik utama dari Silek Lanyah yang didesain untuk seni bertunjukan dengan iringan musik tradisional dari alat-alat musik seperti Gendang Tambua, Gendang Tansa. Sarunai, dan Talempong Pacik. Seni pertunjukan Silek Lanyah selain bertujuan untuk menarik wisatawan juga berfungsi untuk melestariakan tradisi Silat dari generasi ke generasi selanjutnya. Bagi masyarakat Minangkabau Silat tidak hanya berarti sebagai sebuah olahraga atau seni pertujukan semata, Silat merupakan media dalam pembentukan karakter seorang anak hingga tumbuh dewasa. Dalam konsepsi masyarakat Minangkabau belajar Silat tidak untuk mencari lawan, tetapi untuk menambah pertemanan, memahami Silat tidak untuk kesombongan tapi untuk lebih rendah diri serta patuh pada yang Tuhan. Filosofi tersebutlah kemudian dikenal dengan istilah "Basilek, Lahianyo mancari kawan, Batin mancari Tuhan". |
