| Description |
Français : Graines de la Sylphie perfoliée (Silphium perfoliatum), comparée à une pièce de 1 euro (photo : ukas Hummel.). Ces graines sont assez lourdes pour être peu dispersées par le vent. Elles sont mangées par des oiseaux et rongeurs, mais on ignore dans quelle mesure ils les dispersent. Par contre, des chercheurs ont observé le devenir des graines après 4 semaines dans l’eau : dans ce délai, quelle que soit le temps passé dans l’eau, le taux de germination des graines a été constamment élevé. La plupart des graines ont déjà germé dans l’eau au cours des deux premières semaines. Sur une surface d'eau stagnante, le vent peut aussi contribuer à pousser les graines sur l'eau. source : L.
