Summary

[edit]
Description

The Silvereye, or Tauhou, is a tiny Tasmanian species (only about 12cm long) found in Australia, New Zealand and some south-western Pacific countries.

They migrate annually across Bass Strait from Tasmania to the Australian mainland and it is thought that the NZ population originated from a flock that was blown off-course during the 1830s.
