| Description |
English: Picture of the church Sint-Lambertus in the Dutch village Kerk-Avezaath. The exact date the picture was taken remains unknown. In 1938, a central gate made out of bricks was erected, in honour of the 40-year reign of the then Dutch queen Wilhelmina. The gate contains a clock in between the years 1898 and 1938. Since this gate is missing in this picture, only a low fence is visible, the picture could at best originate from early in the year 1938. In the picture one can see the north side of the church, the side facing the open road. The road sign in front of the fence contains the distances to nearby cities/villages: Drumpt 2.2, Tiel 3.9 (to the left) and Kapel-Avezaath 2.5 (to the right). The sign pointing in the direction of the photographer, most propably directs to the villages Erichem and Buren. Nederlands: Foto van de Sint-Lambertuskerk te Kerk-Avezaath. De exacte datering is onbekend. In 1938 is het toegangshek (rechts van de ANWB-paal) ter ere van het 40-jarig regeringsjubileum van koningin Wilhelmina vervangen door een bakstenen toegangspoort met klok. Daar deze op deze foto ontbreekt is te concluderen dat deze foto ten laatste uit het voorjaar van 1938 kan dateren. De afbeelding geeft de noordzijde van de kerk weer, de zijde die vanaf de doorgaande weg zichtbaar is. Op de ANWB-paal staan de volgende plaatsen en afstanden vermeld: Drumpt 2.2, Tiel 3.9 (beiden linksaf) en Kapel-Avezaath 2.5 (rechtsaf). Het bord dat in de richting van de fotograaf wijst en op deze foto onleesbaar is, vermeldt vermoedelijk de plaatsen Erichem en Buren. |
