Summary

[edit]
Description
English: View south across the Durham Coast Line on the approach to the site of Easington station. The station footbridge would have been located towards the left side of the shot and marked the southern end of the platforms (which continued out of shot to the left). The top of a bridge carrying the line over the former station access road (now a public footpath) can be seen in the background to the right. In the immediate foreground, the bare ballast marks where sidings diverged from the main line towards Easington Colliery (behind the photographer). Easington station closed on 4 May 1964.
