Description
Deutsch: Auf Fotos im Archiv des Künstlervereins Malkasten ist die Figur des "Sitzende" aus Muschelkalk für das Jahr 1925 als Bestandteil des Parkgeländes belegt. Zugeschrieben ist sie Richard Langer (1879-1950), dem "ein feines Gespür für Materialgerechtigkeit und ein Sinn für die Wirkung von Bildwerken in ihrer Umgebung" (Thieme-Becker) nachgesagt wurde. Richard Langer (1879-1950) war Schüler von Louis Tuaillon an der Berliner Akademie und konnte 1912 mit einem staatlichen Stipendium nach Rom aufbrechen. Er war lange in Ancona und Berlin tätig bevor er 1919 als Professor für Bau- und dekorative Bildhauerei an die Akademie in Düsseldorf berufen wurde. Das Ulanendenkmal am Rheinufer zwischen Museum Kunstpalast und NRW-Forum und die "Hochwasserschlange" stammen ebenfalls von Richard Langer.
