Summary

[edit]
Description The jointed PCPS slabs showed evidence of cracks at random locations as part of the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Virginia DOT to demonstrate the use of the PCPS Super-Slab® jointed precast pavement system to replace a ramp lane leading to US-50 West. It was identified to grout the panels as soon as possible and before trafficking if possible. Also, the slabs should not be tied along the longitudinal joint to more than one CIP slab to avoid differential movement.
