Source | In opdracht van de Holland-Afrika-Lijn maakt de bekende Zuidafrikaanse schilder Smith Le Roux, de wandschilderingen voor de nieuwe „Jagersfontein". De schilder, die reeds grote bekendheid verwierf met zijn decoratieve wandschilderingen van de „Queen Elizabeth" schildert hoofdzakelijk Zuidafrikaanse motieven. Hij maakt echter op het ogenblik een studie van zeventiende eeuwse Nederlandse costuums om een decor te vervaardigen van de landing van Jan van Riebeek. — De kunstenaar legt de laatste hand aan een groep zebra's.
