Description
English: (2 June 2014)

Snow is a type of sediment of meteoric origin; it is composed of the mineral ice (H2O). Buried and compacted snow is called firn, which is essentially a sedimentary rock. Recrystallized firn forms glacial ice, which is essentially a metamorphic rock.
