Description
Русский: Сравнение размеров и стилей парения крупных летающих животных. Показаны вымершие гигантские птицы (Pelagornis sandersi и Argentavis magnificens), птерозавры (Pteranodon и Quetzalcoatlus), самая крупная из ныне живущих динамично парящих птиц (странствующий альбатрос), крупнейшая из ныне живущих термально парящих наземных птиц (калифорнийский кондор), крупная современная парящая морская птица (великолепный фрегат) и самая тяжёлая из ныне живущих летающих птиц (африканская большая дрофа). Значки обозначают динамическое парение, тепловое парение и слабое парение и обобщают основные результаты исследования. Красные стрелки указывают на переход от ожидаемого результата или предыдущей гипотезы к сведениям, полученным в исследовании.
