Description
Français : Laiterie Sofivo S.A.S. de Champdeniers St-Denis (79).

L'usine, mise en service en 1962 et connue autrefois sous la raison ULDS (Union Laitière des Deux-Sèvres), appartient aujourd'hui à Armor Protéines, filiale du groupe Savencia (ex Soparind-Bongrain).

Spécialisée dans la fabrication de lait en poudre & dérivés tel lactosérum (WPC - Whey Protein Concentrate), elle emploie plus de 70 collaborateurs.

La matière obtenue sert en nutrition animale, notamment engraissement bovins/porcins mais aussi humaine, complément alimentaire très répandu par exemple dans l'univers du culturisme et certaines disciplines de course/endurance. Elle n'est pas considérée comme substance dopante. Un avis médical est cependant fortement recommandé avant toute prise, et une surveillance menée lors de cures prolongées, des effets secondaires étant toujours possibles en cas de dosage inapproprié.
