...Au XV^e siècle, les solives prennent (quand elles sont taillées dans du sapin principalement) peu d'épaisseur et beaucoup de champ, ainsi que le fait voir l'exemple figure 2, provenant d'une maison de Saint-Antonin (Tarn-et-Garonne). Alors elles sont assemblées dans les poutres maîtresses par un repos et un tenon (voyez en A). Ces sortes de solives sont espacées les unes des autres de 0^m,60 à 0^m,90, et reçoivent des entretoises qui portent l'aire et le plafonnage...
