Description
Français : Sulpture en chêne d'un « cornemuseux » sur un poteau cornier d'une maison du XVIe siècle, issue de l'art paroissial à Morlaix (Finistère). Ce sonneur de biniou fait partie des nombreuses statues d'inspiration populaire qui ornent les demeures du XVIe siècle. Le chalumeau de la cornemuse, plus long que celui du biniou koz actuel, appartient à un type répandu dans toute l'Europe du Moyen Âge, et notamment au temps des ducs en Bretagne, jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle. Ce type d'instrument est encore représenté au XXe siècle en haute Bretagne sous le nom de veuze, alors qu'il n'est plus présent dans les réjouissances populaires morlaisiennes depuis le XVIIIe siècle.
