Description
Deutsch: Sontra im nordhessischen Werra-Meißner-Kreis.

Blick vom Mühlberg aus nördlicher Richtung.

In der Bildmitte die nach dem Brand von 1558 wiederhergestellte evangelische Stadtkirche. Mit ihrem massiven Turm aus dem Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts bestimmt sie entscheidend die Ortssilhouette. Links daneben zu sehen sind Türmchen und Giebel des Rathauses, das 1668 auf den Grundmauern des im 30jährigen Krieg zerstörten Gebäudes aufgerichtet wurde. Die Altstadt (innerhalb der Stadtmauer des 14. Jahrhunderts) wird als Gesamtanlage vom Denkmalschutz als schützenswert erachtet.
